Forest Green Rovers
2 – 3 Swindon Village Bowman
Rovers
were on the wrong end of this cup defeat against a decent Swindon side.
The
two side had already played this season in the league with result being 2-2 so they were expecting a close game. The visiting
side started the better and went 0-2 up.
Rovers
finally woke up and rallied with Paddy Tarleton pulling one back
before the break following a corner.
Rovers
were a lot better in the second half but still struggled to get their fluent passing game going. Changes were made and Tome Hansel put Rovers back on level terms with an absolute screamer!
Both
side had chances but Swindon Village continued to trouble the home side and perhaps could have scored to few more to end this tie early but for
a string of superb saves from Lewis Price.
Rovers
almost took the lead when Tareleton executed an acrobatic volley
from Hansel's corner only to see it cleared of the line. Just when
it looked like the tie could be heading for penalties Swindon Village scored the decisive goal with 10 minutes to go.
Star
men; Paddy Tarelton - Didn't stop
running and never gave up & Lewis Price - has come on leaps
and bounds in recent weeks making some superb stops between the sticks.
