Sunday 27/01/08

Under 12's

Forest Green Rovers  2 – 3  Swindon Village Bowman

Rovers were on the wrong end of this cup defeat against a decent Swindon side.

The two side had already played this season in the league with result being 2-2 so they were expecting a close game. The visiting side started the better and went 0-2 up.

Rovers finally woke up and rallied with Paddy Tarleton pulling one back before the break following a corner.

Rovers were a lot better in the second half but still struggled to get their fluent passing game going. Changes were made and Tome Hansel put Rovers back on level terms with an absolute screamer!

Both side had chances but Swindon Village continued to trouble the home side and perhaps could have scored to few more to end this tie early but for a string of superb saves from Lewis Price.

Rovers almost took the lead when Tareleton executed an acrobatic volley from Hansel's corner only to see it cleared of the line. Just when it looked like the tie could be heading for penalties Swindon Village scored the decisive goal with 10 minutes to go.

Star men; Paddy Tarelton - Didn't stop running and never gave up & Lewis Price - has come on leaps and bounds in recent weeks making some superb stops between the sticks.

SUNDAY 27/01/08

Mid Glos Mini League

Under 9s South

Tetbury Town  1 v 7  Forest Green Rovers

This was Forest Green Rovers first game in six weeks, but that didn’t stop them from playing the passing game we have been used to all season.

Goals from Seb Porter(2), Jordan Crosthwaite, and Luke Messer ensured the visitors went in at half time comfortable. Both Robert James and Louie Parfitt had good games for the Black and White Stripes and Craig Cambridge was unlucky to concede after some brave goalkeeping minutes before.

Forest Green secured the points with further goals from James Davies, Captain Jack Freeman and Messer.

Thanks go to FGR shirt sponsor Commercial Catering Laundry Engineers (CCLE) for their continued support.

Star Player: Jordan Crosthwaite
